The new Stampin' Up catalog is out, and that means a new, spectacular In-Color Collection! This selection of colors is delicious!

This past weekend, I experimented with these new inks and came up with a couple cards to show off how well these colors can play together on a card:

 Card #1
For this card, I used the Gorgeous Grunge and Sunburst Sayings stamp
sets, plus the large butterfly die from the Bold Butterfly Framelit die set.
Here's how to do it:

Using sponges, rub ink on Whisper White card stock in a
circular motion, slightly overlapping each of the ink colors.

After finishing a rainbow of color, add the butterfly
Framelit and run it through the Big Shot machine.

Remove the Framelit. Keep the negative portion to use for another card.

On another piece of Whisper White, (sized 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"), use the Gorgeous Grunge
stamps to add splotches of color with the same ink colors as the butterfly.

Stamp the sentiment and add to a 5-1/2' x 8-1/2" card, folded in half.

Add the butterfly. Give extra dimension by using dimensional adhesive foam dots.

Card #2

I just love the way this second card turned out. The idea was completely "CASE'd" from a YouTube video by Gina K. Designs.

To complete this card, I again used three of the new In-Color inks. The flower stamp set used was Flowering Fields (from this past Sale-a-bration) but you could easily replicate this look with the new Wild About Flowers stamp set.

The rough edges on the top and bottom were created by tearing copy paper and laying on the top and bottom of Whisper White card stock and then using the same technique of applying the ink with sponges. With the paper pieces still in place, the flowers were stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. The banner was created with the Thoughtful Banners stamps and punched out with the Duet Banner punch and added to the card with Dimensionals. The card was layered on black card stock
and then placed on Sweet Sugarplum for the card base.

I hope that you will try one of these techniques on your next card!  To see the new catalog and order any of these supplies, please click on the link on the top left of the blog.
