If you are a cardmaker and aren't yet familiar with Cards for Kindness, then please let me introduce you!

Cards for Kindness is a global initiative through Scrapbook.com that gets handmade cards "to people who are in need of an emotional boost, a smile, or a helping hand."  I look at it as a "clearing house" that will get your lovely cards to vetted organizations that use them for words of encouragement to patients, children, and other people in need.

How does it work?

Go to Cards for Kindness. Scroll to the pink boxes on the webpage to review donation guidelines and to find the submission form to print and include with your donation. They also give information on the partnering organizations, so that you can learn where your cards may be directed.

It is important to read their guidelines thoroughly, as there are specifics that must be followed. For instance, all cards must be A2 sized (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") with envelopes, handmade, and include no personal messages (stamped sentiments are okay).

There is a minimum of 10 cards per shipment, but what I normally do is to keep a small Amazon box on hand and add cards to it until it is full, then mail it.

This summer has been blazing hot in Texas, and outdoor activities have been very minimal for us. With the extra time, I've had fun going through some older stamp sets and making new designs with them. I created new combinations with older stamp sets and new Stampin'Up Designer Series Paper but also finished up a stash of retired paper.

Just this week, I sent off nearly 200 cards to Cards for Kindness, mostly summer and fall-themed, with simple sentiments such as Hi/Hello, and Thinking of You.
