Card Share: Sale-A-Bration Flashback "Best Year Ever" with Stampin' Up
I have mentioned before that sometimes I have a problem getting rid of pretty paper.
But I also want to make sure that I get full use out of a stamp set before I pass it on to someone else.
All of these supplies were offered in the 2015 Occasions catalog and the 2015 Sale-A-Bration promotion. The paper pack was a Sale-A-Bration offer called "Best Year Ever."
While these supplies are retired, I wanted to share them for ideas on how you can make simple cards without much fluff and embellishments that still make a big impression.
Visit my website to see the latest Occasions Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration promotion flyer, where you can earn FREE products with any $50 purchase. Sale-A-Bration ends March 31, so shop today!

Even a simple card with only an image and sentiment, without a lot of other fluff, looks amazing.
Shading in a stamp with a simple design makes my coloring look almost professional!
Add an unexpected element with your images. Here I stamped the dictionary twice: Once in black and white on the Whisper White, then again on some scrap cardstock. I used a light color alcohol marker to color the "tab", and then cut out and layered the other dictionary image on top.
Use a very light color alcohol marker to make a "shadow" around the bottom of your image to add a base and "ground" your image.
This card doesn't use any embellishments except for hand-cut banners. With sentiments like these, color in the image to add that master touch.
Pop up sentiments and images by layering with die-cut cardstock and using Dimensionals or other pop-dots or foam tape on the back to add effect.
Sometimes you can make a card with very little patterned paper, and it still looks great. This card is a good example of how to use up scraps of your favorite paper to stretch it further.
