A Merry Moment: Lights!

In our neighborhood, we have had a little bit of a competition for the last three years.  Our Annual Holiday Light Contest brings out the creative gene in many of the neighbors, and as our community grows, so does the number of participants. It's fun to drive around our own neighborhood to look at light displays in addition to the many other light events around our Texas Hill Country.

This year we did a quick road trip to see the spectacular lights in Johnson City, which is part of the Texas Hill Country Regional Light Trail. The courthouse in the town square and the Pedernales Electric Co-op headquarters were glowing as a result of thousands of strands of lights.

Even with my new iPhone, these photos certainly don't do justice to these lovely illuminations.

To get these memories in the scrapbook, I once again used my Stampin' Up Merry Moments Designer Series Paper, (#138450) the Jolly Christmas stamp set (#139876), Old Olive cardstock, and a sheet of old Bazzill cardstock from my stash for the background.

My Canon Selphy has been so helpful with printing photos quickly from my iPhone, using the Canon Selphy app!  I can edit and print and finish pages without having to fire up the dinosaur laptop.

It's not too late to record your holiday memories.

A Merry Moment: Annual Movie Night

In our family we have a dedicated night, one or two days before Christmas, for Movie Night. We have been doing this since my boys were 2 & 7 years old and they still look forward to this tradition each year. There is a picnic supper in front of the telly, new pjs and a fun movie flick.  This year's choice was the Disney movie, "Inside Out".

Some parts of that movie were just too perfect:

We had a great time laughing ourselves silly while gorging ourselves with popcorn, fudge, cheese, crackers and veggies.

So maybe less veggies and more fudge and popcorn.

This is one of the times that I can get my now teenage boys to pose for the camera without all those teenage excuses.  Since the years are going by so quickly, it's even more important that I get those memories down right away on paper.

Before I put away my remaining Stampin' Up holiday products, I created this page using the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper and the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits Dies. Quick and easy.

Now that Christmas has passed and the lovely, handcrafted cards have been mailed to friends and loved ones, it's important to created some papercraft memories for yourself.

What's great about Stampin’ Up is that it isn't just for cards -- they carry fabulous Project Life kits, 12” x 12” spiral ring binders and sheet protectors.

It's not too late to record your holiday memories.
